§7.07. Board of Parks and Recreation

The Board of Parks and Recreation shall consist of five (5) members serving overlapping terms of five (5) years each. The first members appointed under this Charter shall be appointed for terms as follows: One for a term of one (1) year, one for a term of two (2) years, one for a term of three (3) years, one for a term of four (4) years, and one for a term of five (5) years. It shall be the function and duty of the Board of Parks and Recreation to recommend a program to Council for the operation of public parks, recreation facilities, and the acquisition, improvement, construction and maintenance of the parks, parkways, bikeways, and any other services related thereto. The Board's functions and duties shall be advisory only.
