The City of Nelsonville announces that the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway will be closed from Rocky Boots to Polley Field, Monday, May 18, 2020 from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. The bikeway is being closed for tree trimming along the bikeway in that area.


R & R Gas Line Repair Project

Thrusday, May 14, Friday, May 15 and Monday, May 18 - Friday, May 22

The City of Nelsonville announces that Grover Street will be closed from Fort Street to Oak Street, Thursday, May 14, 2020, Friday, May 15, 2020 and Monday, May 18, 2020 through Friday, May 22, 2020. The roadway will be closed each day from 7:00AM until 6:00PM. The roadway is being closed for an R&R Pipeline gas line repair project, weather permitting.

Please use an alternate route.


Scheduled for Webdesday, May 13 at 6:00 pm

The City of Nelsonville Mayors Court is scheduled for May 13, 2020, at 6:00 pm.

In order to protect the health of employees, customers, and their families (efforts to control the spread of the virus) the Court asks that the defendant, his or her legal representation and witnesses only enter the building or attend the hearing, social distancing guidelines and wearing mask will be required to enter the building.

Please notify the Mayors Court Clerk, Angie Kurtz, at 740-753-5692 in advance if you will have witnesses or any questions.

Kevin Dotson Home - May Home of the Month Winner Kevin Dotson receives award for May Home of the Month

May Home of the month is located on Clinton Street, Nelsonville, Ohio. The owner of this impressive home is Kevin Dotson. The home was built over 100 years ago, with authentic architecture, incredible mill work, unbelievable craftsmanship. Kevin has lived in his home since 1972. He has completed various projects such as a sunporch and a large deck with a gazebo which was added in the early 80’s. He describes his home as a place that he loves and fills it full of antiques. The pride he takes in his home shines and is reflected through the appearance of the home.


The City of Nelsonville’s Home of the Month program recognizes residents for their efforts to maintain the exterior of their home in good condition. The Program was established to reward residential properties that contribute to the overall appearance of the City of Nelsonville. Residents of single-family homes, duplexes, and townhomes within the City of Nelsonville are eligible to apply. The winner will receive a certificate of appreciation and a $25.00 gift certificate from Nelsonville Savings Hardware.

Due to social distancing recommendations on preventing the spread of the COVID-19, Nelsonville City Council will be meeting in regular session Monday, May 11, 2020 at 7 PM via a virtual meeting. The public may not attend the meeting in person.
