High Street from Grosvenor Street to Harper Street

The City of Nelsonville Water Department has canceled the boil order for High Street from Grosvenor Street to Harper Street.

The Nelsonville City Council Judiciary Committee will meet via virtual meeting Monday, April 20, 2020 at 5:30pm. The purpose of the meeting is discuss Ordinance 24-20, the council code of conduct and the results of the internal investigation. The meeting will be streamed on the City of Nelsonville Facebook Page (City of Nelsonville, Ohio, @nelsonvillecity).


Monday, April 20 at 7:00 pm

The Nelsonville City Council Finance Committee will meet via virtual meeting Monday, April 20, 2020 at 7pm. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the city’s finances. The meeting will be streamed on the City of Nelsonville Facebook Page (City of Nelsonville, Ohio, @nelsonvillecity).


Starting Monday, April 20

Starting Monday April 20, 2020, the Square will be blocked, and traffic restricted for restriping of the street. This will take place throughout the day however pedestrians will still have access to all businesses on and around the square.

Tuesday, April 21

Tuesday April 21, 2020 Rocky Boot Way and Pine Grove Drive will have construction crews restriping the street. Traffic will be diverted and at times temporarily blocked off in those areas.


Pleasantview Avenue from Fort Street to Scott Street

Monday, April 20 and Friday, April 24

The City of Nelsonville announces that Pleasantview Avenue will be closed from Fort Street to Scott Street, Monday, April 20, 2020 and Friday, April 24, 2020. The roadway will be closed each day from 7:00AM until 6:00PM. Traffic will be detoured onto Scott Street. Flaggers will be at each end of Scott Street and detour the traffic around Pleasantview Avenue on Scott Street during work hours. Pleasantview Avenue will be open to traffic during non-work hours.

The roadway is being closed for an R&R Pipeline gas line repair project, weather permitting. Please use an alternate route.


Lake Hope Drive/State Route 278 over the Hocking River

The City of Nelsonville announces that the bridge on Lake Hope Drive/ State Route 278 over the Hocking River has been restricted to a single traffic lane. A single 11-foot lane will be maintained with traffic lights on both ends of the bridge. This is an ODOT project that consists of overlaying the bridge surface with a latex modified concrete using scarification. ODOT estimates the project will be completed by mid-July 2020.

Please remember that even temporary traffic lights are to be treated the same as all other traffic control devices. Please use an alternate route when possible and be patient when travelling though the designated work zone.
