Accepting Letters of Interest through October 12, 2018

The City of Nelsonville will be accepting letters of interest for the vacant City Council position. The new Councilmember will fill the vacant position of Margaret Gustafan and serve until November 30, 2019. The deadline for submitting letters of interest is October 12, 2018.

The City of Nelsonville is seeking to re-establish the Board of Parks and Recreation, as outlined in our City Charter.

The Board shall consist of five members. Members must be registered voters in the City of Nelsonville.

Per the City Charter, “It shall be the function of the Board of Parks and Recreation to recommend a program to Council for the operation of public parks, recreation facilities, and the acquisition, improvement, construction and maintenance of the parks, parkways, bikeways, and any other services related thereto. The Board’s functions and duties shall be advisory only.”

We are seeking letters of interest from potential Board Members. Letters may be submitted to the members of the Parks and Recreation Committee: Dereck Bowens, Margaret Gustafan, and Dottie Fromal. Letters should be sent to 211 Lake Hope Drive, Nelsonville, Ohio 45764.

The deadline for submitting a letter of interest is October 8, 2018.

There will be a public discussion and conversation regarding the Board appointments at the Parks and Recreation Committee meeting on October 16, 2018 held at City Hall.


Wednesday, October 10, 8:00 am - Noon

On Wednesday, October 10, 2018, the area around 222 Kontner will be closed from 8 am -12 pm for tree removal.

Tuesday, October 2, 1:30 pm

On Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at 1:30pm, the Nelsonville Civil Service Commission will be holding a meeting at City Hall. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss future police department staffing.

The public is invited to attend.


Columbus Day, Monday, October 8

The City of Nelsonville Government Offices will closed Monday, October 8, 2018, in honor of Columbus Day. The City Offices will re-open on Tuesday, October 9, 2018.
