Code Enforcement Announcement
The City of Nelsonville Code Enforcement Office wants to make the residents of Nelsonville aware of the increased enforcement of City Code 5.02-Refuse, Rubbish and Special Rubbish and City Code 9.14-Nusaince. The Code Enforcement Officer has been and will continue to aggressively enforce the requirements of these Code sections. A resident who is given a Notice of Code Violation will have 10 days to comply with the Notice.
Failure to comply with the Notice will result in a Civil Citation and a summons to appear in City of Nelsonville Mayor’s Court.
Some of the more common Code violations are:
- Grass and weeds over 8 inches tall
- Used building materials, unlicensed motor vehicles, refuse and rubbish on the property
- Exterior maintenance of property
- Uncollected trash
- Appliances and furniture outside of the home
- Automobile and truck tires outside of the home
It is the intent of the Code Enforcement Officer to assist residents in complying with the City Code and to make the City of Nelsonville a destination again!

The Nelsonville City Council will hold a regular council meeting on Monday, November 26th, 2018 at 7:00 pm in council chambers at City Hall.

On Monday, November 26, 2018, after the Regular Council Meeting, the City of Nelsonville will be holding a Finance Committee meeting to discuss appropriations and finances.

City Offices Closed for Thanksgiving Holiday
Thursday, November 22 & Friday, November 23
The City of Nelsonville Government Offices will closed Thursday, November 22, 2018, and Friday, November 23, 2018, in honor of Thanksgiving.
The City Offices will re-open on Monday, November 26, 2018.
Section of Madison Street CLOSED for Water Line Repair

278, also known as Madison Street, will be closed from West Franklin to Cross Street due to waterline repair.
Streets will remain closed until further notice.
