The City of Nelsonville is pleased to announce that the Nelsonville Dog Park has been awarded an Ohio Department of Natural Resources, NatureWorks grant. The NatureWorks grant award is for $21,349.00, for the construction of a Nelsonville Dog Park shelter house. The city is developing a dog park at the site of the old wastewater treatment plant off East Canal Street. Nelsonville officials said, “It is stuff like this that makes Nelsonville a great place to live and work.”

The City of Nelsonville is also a finalist for the 2023 PetSafe Unleashed Dog Park Contest. The PetSafe contest is a national contest where a community can win a dream dog park, valued up to $50,000 – a place where pets and people can come together to spread the joy and share the love with wagging tails, smiling faces and new friends every day!

The finalist with the highest number of votes will be awarded this year’s PetSafe Unleashed Dog Park, each voter can vote once per day, every day, so make sure that you and all your friends vote daily for a Nelsonville Dog Park at petsafeunleashed.petsafe.com/locations/nelsonville-oh/ until November 30th.
